Default Part number for GM header gaskets

Anyone know the part number for a set of GM header gaskets? Sounds like the consensus is to scrap the gaskets supplied with headers and use the OEM ones.

I don't know the gasket number, I do know my gaskets were still in great shape when I did my G8 headers and I just reused them.

Re-use the stockers. They're fine. I did it on mine and everyone else I know who installed their own has done the same.

I also kept the OEM ones after getting my headers installed

I'm having Supercar Performance install them for me. I'm anxious to get them on and have no time to do it myself. Talked with Scott tonight and he's for using the same gaskets, especially since I only have 2K miles on them.

Thanks for the recommendation. Scott is a super nice guy. I was putting my new Pfadt racing sways on last night and ran into an issue with the fronts (need a lift). Called him late last night on a whim and he was still in the shop. Drove over and dropped it off and he got the new sway in today and only charged me $35. He even drove me back home.

Now that's what you call customer service! Its amazing how these other shops will treat people when they know they are on forum's talking about there experience!

Going above and beyond will always get a shop more rep and more business.

Wonder what he would charge to take my headers off the G8 and put the stock mani's back on.

Muffler shop wanted 200 per side!

Call him. He's in after 10am. Likes to work late.

The thing is, he may not give you an exact quote. He works like this, $65 an hour and how long it takes him. NOT a book time. He said he is fair about his pricing and I had no reason to doubt him at this point. So when I dropped my car off to have him install my front sway, I expected at a minimum an hour since I already had everything loose. I drove the car over with basically no front sway attached. He put it on on his lift and said he was able to raise the engine enough to let the old one finally clear the steering and trans cooling lines. I'm pretty happy with him so far. He even mentioned that he made sure my wheel was torqued to specs with his $500 Snap-on wrench. That's the kind of attention to detail I like to hear. Gives me a warm fuzzy.

FYI, $65 an hour is a bargain IMO. I got quotes from two highly regarded shops for header installation and they wanted $400 and $500. Basically amounted to $80 and $100 per hour. Each told me 5 hours to install.

5 hours seems like a lot to me!

I did my headers on my G8 in 3 hours on the floor in a garage. If I had a lift i could prob do them in a hour and a half to 2 hours. Spent 45 minutes on the rear O2 sensor alone.

I will give him a call. I'm trying to get the G8 back to stock this weekend. YIKES!
