Default Flat spot on tires?

Ok is it just me or does this happen to everyone else. I swear every morning when I get in the camaro it seems as if the tire(s) get a flat spot over night. After a few miles of driving and the tires warming up its gone.

Is this normal for our tires?

Try overinflating your tires to 5 lbs above door spec.... it should help abit with it or at least make the area of flat spotting smaller.

I was thinking that or nitrogen.

You own an SS right? Do you park your car outside? Remember, unless you swapped wheels/tires you have a summer tire on there. Those PZeros are not meant for <45* so that rubber is going to be hard until it warms up. Figure you park the car outside, it drops to the 20's at night and it going to "mold" itself with a flat spot as the tire cools down. Nitrogen or overfilling isn't going to help that.

You think 5 lbs more air will eliminate the flat spot? I don't, and if you fill it any more than that you'll run the risk of wearing the tires uneven down the center. You also run the risk of reducing traction (stopping power) by over-inflating because in effect you are narrowing the tire. PZeros are bad enough right now without reducing traction further.

Well, I can tell you if your tires get a vibration all the time and you need to go get them Road Force balanced.....

My car has had a vibration issue from the rear end that just kept getting more and more noticeable. I went to dealer and told them I wanted to get a road force balance job, they tell me 79.95 and I say gettr done.

Well 4 hrs later they tell me the bad news, two of my tires are bad and will not balance!

So 2 new rear tires are ordered and will be here this week.. It was warm down here though, over 50's and 60's all week...... So now no cost road force balance and 2 new tires.....

Sorry to thread jack, but I thought if you were having the problem longer than just cold weather it could be something else.

Yes the car is parked outside right now. I had a feeling it had to do with the rubber.

The vibration is only for the first few min's of driving in the morning.
