are they coming?, I don't know.

I know the flyer says CAR SHOW but that usually means car and trucks if trucks are not allowed it has to be disclaimed, I hope there won't be a bunch of PO'd truck guys that day

$0.02
I would also hope that trucks would be allowed in the proper year classes?? no truck only classes is a wise choice... but no trucks allowed in the classes? that sounds like a bad idea, for same reasons Jose mentioned.

While my car will be in the 5th gen class, I'm intending to be there all day, so I can do whatever in regards to the rest of the show.... assuming we may need class judges ?

Sorry Trucks and bikes have never been apart of the show, we have been telling people at all the crses and car shows that we have attended, no trucks and no bikes, we are not buying trophies for trucks or bikes either, it's just a decision we made at the first meeting and we are sticking to it.

I, for one, don't have a problem with it. You guys held the meetings, made the decisions. But has everybody that has handed out fliers said "No trucks, no bikes allowed, we don't want you" ? All I was suggesting (and I think Jose, too) - I woud not expect a truck or bike class... that's not realistic... and no class means no specific trophy. However, if trucks show up, and pay entry fee for a specific class... then to not be judged? I know that I would not appreciate that if I had a show worthy truck, that's all. I would suggest that if trucks show, then they don't get charged an entry fee if they will not be judged.

I can see not allowing Bikes to compete, that is a whole differen animal but show winning trucks?

with all due respect Bill, it doesn't have to be a special truck class, like Toasty said, it can go in the proper year class, I have been to 100's of car shows since I bought my Lightning in 01 and it always falls on the year class,

I would think that a first year carshow would want any vehicle they can get their hands on, first years is to early to start excluding people

but like I said, I knew my truck was not going to be elegible either for being a staff member of C5G or for being a volunter (if I get my vacations) but I never thought because of not being allowed.

anyway I'll make a announcement on the places I posted to avoid problems.

Sorry guys, We will never make everyone happy, it's a hard thing to do, I myself have probably passed out about 3000 of these flyers already over the summer and have not given them to any trucks or bikes and when they asked have been advising no bikes and no trucks due to the decision we made at the first meeting. When decisions are made sometimes you just have to go with them. it's a decision we made when the walmart execs were present and we have to stick with it.

Like I said, you guys on the committee made the decision, that's cool. Just hoping that there is a plan to deal with trucks that may show up. (i.e. not make them pay entry fee if no judging)

If I was a walmart exec I would be pissed that we are turning money for the kids away for no good reason,
and I probably handed out 100's of flyers since showstopper's open house and I did not told them no trucks allowed, hell, sometimes I just leave them on their windshield,

I hope to not be the one that has to tell one of those truck owners that drive in, "we can take your money but your really cool 1956 f-100 is not allowed on our first year charity car show"

Also hope you guys make a sign that says no trucks allowed and place it where everyone can see it to not waste the time of the guy driving by after work and says "cool a car show on my backyard let me go get my $50,000 ram SRT-10"

And what about el caminos? Or rancheros? How about VW buses? Where those cars fell?

I know I am being a bit dramatic, who knows if any of those are going to show up, I am just a bit PO'd right about now.

I respect the decision of the not to include a truck class for trophies. As it was suggested why not allow trucks to compete by year? Frankly we have had only one person preregister so far. I fear that despite passing out 1,000's of flyers we may not have as many as we hoped. This is our first year. Plus there are other trophies that are available for all such as the ones for; Spectator, Tilted Kilt, Mayor, Participant, Walmart, CMN and Best of Show. I think that we should discuss this at Thursdays meeting at Tilted Kilts. I would hate to turn away $25 for Children's Miracle Network.

Did not mean to start any problems, I was assuming that when people were given flyers they were also being told no trucks and no bikes.

Well then someone needs to go back to Steve and tell him buy more trophies, I'm not doing it. This is why we have meetings and invite people to get involved in the beginning. I got no problem with trucks showing up, their just not competing if we have no trophies for them, that's another six trophies we would need, you can't put them in the same class as a car, it would not make any sense.
