Which mods won't void your warranty? What are some things/mods to stay away from when you want to keep the warranty?

Cold Air Intake, Axle back exhaust, those are just two performance mods off the top of my head. And if you have a v6 you can get it tuned because the 10's and 11's don't have a flash counter in the ECU.

CAI will not void a warranty, unless they can prove it caused a failure of a warranteed part. Exhaust will void the warranty on the exhaust, but nothing else, unless proven to have caused failure of a warranteed part...

There are some regional managers that have voided warranties for CAI's also when they have been called to a dealership to look at a problem. I would take it off before you go to a dealer for an engine related repair.

GM will only void your warranty if you break the car too many times.

The real answer is that any mod "can" void your warranty. There is no magical list that they see and flag it. I learned this first hand. They warrantied my car with headers and a tune. Once I broke the drive train repeatedly they pulled the plug. Want to know what they used as the excuse? Rubber in the wheel wells that is proof of abusive driving, no mods, juts abusive driving. They is no black and white answer. Bill is right, GM could flag a claim over a CAI if they so choose. Thanks for the reading lesson but I got it the first time.

Appearance mods are the only mods that you can say for sure won't void the powertrain warranty...period.

according to the owners manual, this in not covered but each dealer looks at each car as one on one.
