Took the GTO out to Rt66 only once.. Got so infuriated by the inability to simply hook that I just left with horrible times... That was on Nitto 555sOriginally posted by huggerorange73 View PostMike isn't going back to the strip until he gets his drag radials.
I'm not going to subject myself to anymore frustration at the track on street tires.

Pretty much blew through the mod money for this year, so it may not be till the end of the season..September/October.
I know the only time I've taken this car to the track I was feeling the same 13.5 @ 107 is just lame.. 2.5 60s were even lamer... I'm not looking forward to trying to control this thing now with the blower on it.. /sigh-- patience..
Hell, my 2002 T/A M6 with just a Lid and Cat Back ran 13.18 @ 108 with a 2.2 60... That was on 245/45/16s too..

This is what everyone who intends to mod these cars is up against....it's fairly easy to get the car to plant and go with some seat time > 430 rwhp. Once you start climbing in power, all bets are off.Originally posted by HumanWiki View PostTook the GTO out to Rt66 only once.. That's why DarkSS & T bone were running 12.6s with way less HP than I was. Without a good tire, I'll get stomped all day long, more so on an 1/8 mile run where this is no big end for me to make it up on.

Now that, I must have missed.. That's cool.. Just one less thing to worry about at the track..
Oh well -- guess I shouldn't be too worried about my times then..
Hopefully, once it's been a little warmer a little longer I'll get a chance to make it out to a track somewhere.

I'm going to lean more toward placebo effect Tony!Originally posted by TonyNo View PostOkay, I thought I read on C5 that some people thought it helped. Could be a placebo effect.

Randy, here's some solid advice....unless you're looking to frustrate the hell out of yourself, stay away from the strip until you get drag radials/slicks.Originally posted by HumanWiki View PostNow that, I must have missed.. That's cool.. Just one less thing to worry about at the track..

Dan was having his own set of issues with his cars new found power. I actually improved my 60' time alot. The problem is the car should be cutting 1.7 60' which just isn't possible on P Zeros at the HP level I'm at.Originally posted by TonyNo View PostCould always ask Dan to see what he can get out of it.
The car would be happy leaving the tree @ 3000 + RPM, but that's impossible with the current tire.
