about $200 for the ant/wires/splitter
$150 for the other cables i need from gen5diy
give or take $100

Not sure about your math but it look like you will be at the same cost as me $1425 without the backup cam

Let me know about backup cam and what you find i am looking to get that too.

The group buy for the Gen5DIY Nav kit is 850+25 shipping. -subtract 83 for the antenna I will not need. (It was thought that the '11 needed the new antenna, it does not) add in 550 for the faceplate I ordered = $1342.

Since I have only a 10 minute drive to work and no safe place to park it, it's not my daily driver. That leaves the weekend when the weather is nice out. That's why I only have 10,000 miles on it in 3 years. Half of those miles were put on it the first year when it was basically stock. There are times when I wish I had left it closer to stock and driven more.

You might be right though Toasty. It is a different animal now and may be driven a lot more this year.

MyLink retrofit

I just found out about being able to retrofit the MyLink infotainment/nav system into my 2011 2SS. I've been all over the internet and the only place I've found to get the OEM unit is a company in NC by the name of Mobile Video Integrations. I must say, they run a very top notch operation! I got a quote for the unit w/nav and it kinda shocked me...$1899.00 plus shipping. The unit w/out nav is $1,599.00 seems really cost prohibitive. Then where would one have it installed here in Chicago? I put in a request for an estimate with Mr. Kustom but have not heard back. Anyone know where to buy a MyLink unit w/nav for less that $1899.00? The Chevy dealership wasn't helpful at all.

There's a vendor on Camaro5 that is putting together the kit needed. Though he doesn't yet have a supply of the navigation screen/controls. I'm getting the kit from him, and I ordered the nav screen/controls from Schram auto parts

Thanks for the quick response. By kit, do you mean the extra connectors? The $1,899.00 I was quoted had everything needed for the upgrade. Does that sound reasonable or am I just acting cheap?

Puts it into perspective. Maybe I should just pony up or go home. You doing this DIY or do you have a company lined up to do it? Seeing that I don't have an electrical engineering degree from MIT, I need to find a reputable technician.
