How much can you negotiate?

Someone once told me that since I live in Dupage I would only have to pay dupage taxes. I didn't believe it but yes I am staying out of CROOK County

That is correct. You pay the sales tax of the county you register the vehicle in. I have bought a few vehicles (over 15) in my life (and yes all at dealerships) and only a handful have been purchased in the county I live in, or even the state in lived in at the time.

I know the dealer wont give me money for my mods. I was more or less asking if I brought it in to get an idea of what they would give me for trade in and told them the headers are coming off would they give me the same price if I just brought it in without the headers.... Know what i mean?

IL changed the vehicle sales tax laws it used to be if you purchased a vehicle outside the state that you would only pay a flat tax if the vehicle was under certian break points. now it is just the tax of the country that they vehicle is registered in
