well coming home from softball and i get behind round lake beaches finest and notice k9 on bumper and i said to my kid...wouldn't it be cool to send out the dog right now as we sat at the light?Well a couple miles down the road i turn onto my street and all of a sudden he lights me up!!!He says my hids were blinding him..(probably pissing off his dog)oops and mentioned where my front plate was and i said in the trunkso he mentioned to me that i need to have them pointed more down.OK officer anyway he goes onto say anything over 6k(which is what i have) is illegal but everyday i see dark blue,purple driving down the same roads no tickets but 1st pull over in 20 yrs

So, aftermarket HID's? Unfortunately, a lot of those are done incorrectly. Check your cutoffs (if you have them).

I have 5K @ 55W (5000 lumens), which is like mid-day sunlight... What is stock color and wattage on 5th Gens?

A cutoff is like a shutter that keeps the beam below a certain point. Stops them from blinding oncoming traffic.

i believe mine don't have cutoffs you speak of as i believe they came with bulbs and ballasts but was gonna see if they are as abad as coper says tonight.I got out of my car and bent down to look at them head on and didn't think they were really bright at all..maybe he was being a @#$%

Next time an RS is around, both of you pull up to a wall and look at the light patterns projected. It's beam height and not brightness.

well once you get above 6k they start to go blu and then purple which are illegal so 6k or less and your ok
