I'm jealous that I couldn't make it! But the good news is that I at least figured out a way to raise the brake line by 3/4" or so. I just popped out the 2 grommets securing the brake line and rested it above the braces. I doesn't seem to make any ticking noises now, but since the cable is loose I still feel like I could be in the same bad spot if it falls down. So I'll be heading to the tire shop tomorrow to have a shorter stem put in. They caught the ticking on the passenger side rear wheel immediately (which they fixed by using a shorter valve stem), but the driver's side only started hitting the brake line once I went above 5MPH or so or made a right turn.
