Horrible is putting it mildly. Issues created by my previous tune from someone here in my town. Need to get it fixed soon. I suspected my current tune was not right. I'll be contacting Tony this week.

I hope you get it all taken care of, your Camaro is one of my Club favorite's. Next time we meet you got to let me take a look at the interior. So far I've only seen it from the outside.Originally posted by fastfreddie View PostHorrible is putting it mildly. Issues created by my previous tune from someone here in my town. I think Frank broke the Dyno right before me with his 518 run.
Nah, I can't use that excuse because the GTO ran after me and
smoked us all.

Borla Shorty Headers, Borla Atak Cat Back, CAI Intake, VMAX Ported Throttle Body. (I know shorties do nothing for HP.)
I expected more and after seeing it puke at the top end spitting smoke, fuel, etc. I knew it wasn't right.
I know I can search this and was planning to, but I'll ask in case someone already knows the answer. What does a stock automatic V8 normally dyno at?sigpic

Yeah, so I think both of us should be higher than what we ended up with.Originally posted by steveo9043 View PostFrom what I have found on C5 its about 320
Jim (scotchman) would be a good comparison. I think he has similar mods to ours. Jim oh buddy....chime in here and tell us what you got under the hood man! Help a couple of brothers out!

Don't get too caught up on the dyno numbers. There's a lot at play and it can vary a lot car by car. For the mods you both have your numbers are right where I would expect. As far as the black smoke at the top that's common too. It sounds like to me your tuner went the safe route.
Sure you could throw a couple degrees of timing at it and lean it out a bit but is it worth the extra 5-10hp at that point? That's up to you to decide.
sent from my galaxy s3. that would explain the errors.

I'm actually pretty pleased with my numbers. The CAI i know has been known to pick up more but I know my filter is also on the dirty side. As for the catback... that is just sound.Originally posted by fastfreddie View PostYeah, so I think both of us should be higher than what we ended up with.

you being tuned with shorty headers and throttle body I would of expected around the 350 mark for you.
I don't think i would say the numbers are right where Id expect for freddie. he gets shorty's, throttle body and a tune over me and dyno's 11 less.Originally posted by SYCK SS View PostDon't get too caught up on the dyno numbers. I agree it could all be in the tune and be "safe" but he did run 2 cars after me so with the same conditions I wouldn't expect him to be less then me even if it was a really safe tune.

Yeah Freddies' tune up isn't right at all. The car is SUPER rich on the top end.
He has contacted me already and I am working up an estimate for him to make it right.2010 Victory Red SS

quick question... the numbers were corrected numbers correct? and that takes into consideration the DA? or how does that work exactly?Originally posted by FLP View PostYeah Freddies' tune up isn't right at all. The car is SUPER rich on the top end.

I noticed on my printout it said humidity was at 36% one run and 37% the next. I know outside the humidity was pushing 80% and with the doors open I'm assuming it would be higher than 37%.
just looking for some knowledge

Go back to last years FLP day in April and I believe 354 was the best from an automatic . Not sure if modded. My manual did 376 with just a CAI. Temp and other weather issues also have an effect.Originally posted by fastfreddie View PostBorla Shorty Headers, Borla Atak Cat Back, CAI Intake, VMAX Ported Throttle Body. When I had my SC, Cam, headers installed in 2011 my dyno run was 560HP I was a little disappointed in FLP's dyno run, the only thing i changed since the initial SC dyno run is a 3200 Stall converter and billet Trans, but no biggie bc what matters most to me is what it run at the track. However new ball game! I wonder what I will run with all the new weight I have installed :-). Any one have skinnies ?

, therefore, you can't compare one to another. They are best used to gauge effectiveness of upgrades when you do before and after pulls on the same one.
