some people on C5 were saying I could ruin my trans with a bad converter.

This is true, but its not common to have a bad converter. You gotta weigh the options of new vs used. How much are you saving by going used. Is it worth it to take a chance. Something that's always recommended is a upgraded transfer cooler. I know of several that would have preserved their trans with just that additional mod.

Wasn't sure or not. I was told to get a quote on a cut n clean job if I buy used. Which will probably make it around the same as buying new. Maybe I'll shoot a lowball offer if they still have it in a couple weeks to make it worth it.

its all the risk being taken when modifying. I have blown my main shaft in my trans and my rear end, and i didnit even modify a part connected to those, it came from other parts being added.

I always say if you have any reason to hesitate in the purchase of installing of a part then dont do it.

I am not hesitant about installing a converter, it is on my too do list. I am hesitant on the idea of a used converter. I am going to get a quote from yank to cut and clean with shipping and go from there. I would be confident in the product if it was cut and cleaned.

Haha. That reminds me of a guy that asked me where my "cold air intake" was routed. Then as he walked away he complimented me on my flamethrower kit I had connected to my tailpipe :-/
